Tell me exactly why someone needs to stop and think about whether they need to take a damn tylenol? Excuse me but if I have a headache I'll know it. I don't need to stop and think about it. In fact the act of stopping and thinking would probably be painful if I did need to take a tylenol. So why on earth would they run ads like this?

Because some pain relievers may trigger serious asthma symptoms, it's important to talk to your doctor before selecting an over-the-counter pain reliever.

Be smart about the medications you take and their effect on your body. Stop. Think. Tylenol.
I gather what they are saying is that this "Stop. Think. Tylenol." catch phrase was coined to remind people that even otc drugs can have dangerous reactions. Duh. Sounds like bs to me. You want to know the real reason they used this phrase? Because it works. People heard it on the radio, and they listened. They stopped. And they thought. And golly gee I'll bet a few of them rushed right to the drug store and bought some tylenol. But not me. I just stopped and thought about how many times I've been told to stop and think. It's like being told to "WAKE UP". Give me a break I've been told to wake up enough times that it has no effect, and yet it seems to me that the ones who tell me to wake up need to do a little waking up themselves. Anyway, when someone on the radio tells you to stop and think, this is brainwashing. Subliminal messaging and all that jazz.
The evidence of a brainwashed nation is all around us. Savings rate is null, despite the fact that people absolutely must save money or they're screwed. Most are over their heads in debt. If economic disaster strikes, this republican government could easily implement seriously draconian measures against anyone in debt. We're talking about indentured servitude here. And of course the corporate media would not report on any of these new laws.
So why would so many people risk so much just so they can have a few extra trinkets? Yep it's because we're brainwashed. From the cradle to the grave we are subjected to the equivalent of a full year of advertisements. After about 20 years of being a consumer we simply do not have the mental fortitude to resist the urge. And so we spend spend spend. And every once in a while we "stop" and we "think" .... but soon we'll cease to do even that much, because we'll all be programmed to pop a pill whenever we get the urge to stop or think about anything.
Am I the only one who is greatly disturbed by this?
