Comedians seem to be the best political commentators today. Cartoons have caused riots and deaths. Steven Colbert's act received a lot of comment around here.
I was struck by dday's A Comedian's perspective on Stephen Colbert complete with sober analysis of the sequence and timing of each line. There was discussion of the structure and classification of the speech along with the concept of the "house". Just who was he playing to? Was he a bomb or "da bomb"?
Like many of you I've attempted a bit of humor in my diaries and comments, with mixed results. Yesterday I made an inside reference to a fellow Canadian about Keswick. He got the joke! But my reference to using smoke signals "White smoke for a new perp?" probably just amused me. For a minute put the cares of the world aside. Let's have some fun. Prove progressives have a sense of humor.
So a cowboy, a fratboy and a minister go into a bar...
