Greetings, Kossacks,
I'm Marcy Winograd. With less than a month left before the June 6th election, I'm sporting my tennies and sprinting to the finish line in a race against Jane "Wiretapper" Harman.
Some of you may know me as the English teacher and comma cop, the LA County Dem of the Year, the anti-war mom, or the lady most-likely to put up her dukes with Diebold. Others may know me as a red, white, and blue sign popping up on voters' lawns from San Pedro to West LA.
I invite bloggers from all parts cyber to visit winogradforcongress.com and join (contribute, endorse, volunteer) a 600-volunteer-strong and growing grassroots campaign to elect a real Democrat to the 36th Congressional District. If you've ever felt frustrated with the lack of spine in Congress, if you've ever protested the war or wished some of those billions could be poured into education and health care, now is the time to beat the street for a progressive Dem, actually the President of Progressive Democrats of Los Angeles. I don't give out blank war checks to Bush, nod while he wiretaps the world, or vote for his bankruptcy-too-bad-for-you bills. Instead, I organize "Out of Iraq" town hall forums, lobby Sacramento to protect our vote, and run for Congress when Dems dance with Bush.
Meanwhile, I've got a date with the LA Times today. What should I say?
Talk to me,
Marcy
