As I hear Bush hurling hatred once again in hopes of helping himself politically, I can't help but wonder... what will the Republicans do when they run out of people hate?
People to point their finger at and say, "Them. It's their fault."
Early on, it was horrible women who either a)had abortions b)had sex or c)used birth control. Horrible, horrible people.
Abortions are ruining everything.
The evil of their abortions is spilling over into our decent, upstanding, god-loving American society. God is punishing us because we are not punishing them. We don't hate them enough.
Then it was gays. Those abominations against God who wanted to marry, to pretend it was okay to do horrible things in their bedrooms because they were married. Even worse than the whores who had sex and used birth control and had abortions... it's the gay people.
The people along the Gulf Coast got the spotlight briefly, because they were stupid and lived in a city under sea level and didn't have cars and couldn't find a bus to get out of the way.
It was their own fault they suffered and died. They're too stupid to get out of the way, too stupid not to know they shouldn't live there and too stupid to get out of the way of all that water.
And before that, it was everyone in the Arab world, except the Saudis who gave us... what was it, 16 of the 19 hijackers on 911 and sell us oil. Everyone except them... they hate us. They want to kill us. They despise us for our glorious freedoms.
It's their fault we have problems here, that we're afraid, and we have to kill them.
We have to kill them so we can feel safe. And because we're Americans, we, more than anyone else in the world, deserve to feel safe, even if tons of other people have to die to make us feel safe.
Do we feel safe yet?
And I hope I haven't forgotten any big group, but for, we're down to the Mexicans. The brown people. Illegals. Illegal people. Illegal human beings.
Everything is their fault.
They're streaming across the borders that we didn't make safe -- pointing out as they do that we haven't made the borders safe yet -- and daring to do things like cut our grass, take care of our children, build our homes, pick our fruit, be abused by companies owned by our wealthy by working long, long hours for a pittance so the companies can make more money. How dare they?
Americans by the hundreds of thousands are dying to cut grass for $5 an hour, paid under the table. Those poor Americans the Republicans once hated... I guess they don't hate them now, because they're so worried about all the jobs the poor Americans so want to do, but can't because all the brown people are here. They've invaded, crossed our unsecured border, basically torn these otherwise good, wanted jobs out of the hands of decent, poor Americans, and are ruining this country.
If we just hate them, kick them out, put up a wall between us and them... things will get better.
We won't have such a huge deficit or be in an unwinnable war or have people dying for lack of health care. We won't be spied upon illegallly, and it won't matter so much that we now torture and imprison people illegally or that Bush's popularity ratings are at 29 percent.
Because we can all get busy hating the brown people.
It's all about hatred to these people running our country.
Everything is better with a group to hate.
I just wonder... what are they going to do when there's no one left to hate?
When they've pointed the finger at everyone except themselves, and there's no one left and the country's still in shambles?
What happens when we run out of peopel to hate?
