A letter from Co-op America.
I urge you to
act now, to keep the pressure on ExxonMobil to end its climate abuse and abuse of consumers, communities, and the environment, before it is too late.
ExxonMobil should be ashamed. The company continues to fuel global warming while growing its own coffers at a critical time for the planet and human communities. ExxonMobil must take bold and swift action to invest in renewable energy and create a sustainable and just energy future for the company and for us all.
Act now. And encourage your friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors to do the same.
Thanks to you, Co-op America was talking about rising oil prices, the possibility of $100 barrels of oil, and climate change as a real and dire problem more than five years ago. We have never given up on this issue and even when pundits didn't support us, we spoke truth to power at the ExxonMobil annual meetings.
The good news is that now, the rest of the country has caught up to us, with consumers everywhere (and even some members of Congress) up-in-arms over huge oil company profits. And global warming is on the front page of the paper almost daily. This is a tremendous window of opportunity for putting renewed pressure on America's biggest oil company and evader of climate change responsibility.
In past years, Co-op America members have played a critical role in increasing pressure on ExxonMobil's CEO and Board and I hope you'll join us again this year by sending an email today to ExxonMobil to redouble the pressure on them at this critical time.
Act now. And encourage your friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors to do the same.
For the future,
Alisa Gravitz
Executive Director
Co-op America
