because he's dead. After Hunter's last exhaustive attempt

to save metajesus, we flummoxed in a moment intermittent joy and confusion.
But alas, Hunter left metajesus in my care, and I know fuck all about caring for a diety. Hell, my skills in the 'overworld' would have left ET dead too. I ain't no Henry Thomas with a Drew Barrymore sidekick.
But I'm feeling as sick as ET, and yes, the Metajesus I left for dead.
And I fear that I left Metajesus for dead beacuse in the face of self-important people overpolicing the site, I have, in the name of Metajesus, allowed long time trusted users to denigrate, without provocation, the law of "rate the comment, not the poster", and more egresiously I have allowed the sacrifice, in the name of Metajesus, the new fangled trend of sacrificing oneself to the self appointed predator class simply out of a self-aggrandizing [or self-effacing] desire to preserve a long standing
good here, i.e. the
good that despite our differences, we can still engage in civilized conversation; that intelligent conversation, while often heated, is not judged on a specific ideology. That we are still a 'reality based community'.
Aren't we supposed to be this. And in that, isn't it an imminent truth that we only educate ourselves insofar as we educate [and are educated by] others?
And most importantly, that we treat no one as trolls unless they are.
In my care, as he has died, Metajesus casts several lights on the world. The light of Hunter is still central - it is the truth of metajesus. It is the idea of a fold that understands how to treat each other.
The Metajesus that died in my arms is more like Dionysios, the myth before the myth. We'll have Maenad's dancing, human sacrifice, the blood and the flesh - in your face as our sacrificial sacriments. We'll unearth the ancient blood cults [though intestingly enough - most of those lead to that boring democratic humanism]...
Or maybe we'll start being decent to each other.
I've never worried about this place more than now, and I've actually been following this, what I consider one of the most motivating and potentially actualizing communities in existence, for three years.
The person who let metjesus die, didn't come here because he agreed with all of you, he didn't come here because he was a democratic party operative; the metajesus, who might come back to life, didn't come for any reason, beyond the idea that people can communicate.
We have it in our power, to not fight about the little things, to even leave the personal 'beliefs' of another alone, so long as those 'beliefs' don't find their way into legislation.
And I say this as one of the most hard core leftinistas here....
And fuck it, I'm too challenged tonight to get the formating right...
Cheerio.
