A couple of twenty somethings come to my town, from Chantilly Virginia, to see a rare Orioles win and meet up with a bitch wearing a badge.
If you don't want to read the link, the gist of it is they got lost leaving Camden Yards and ended up in Cherry Hill. They ran a stop sign, probably because they were scared shitless and looking at street signs instead. They got a ticket for the stop sign infraction, but were glad to see a cop, 'cause they needed directions.
They got arrested for the crime of not knowing how to get to I-95.
Josh Kelly and his girlfriend Llara Brook, 22 and 20 respectively, were quoted:
"I said, 'Thank goodness, could you please get us to 95?" Kelly said.
"The first thing that she said to us was no -- you just ran that stop sign, pull over," Brook said. "It wasn't a big deal. We'll pay the stop sign violation, but can we have directions?"
"What she said was 'You found your own way in here, you can find your own way out.'" Kelly said.
Anyone can have a bad day at work, but these are young kids for Pete's sake!! At this point I'm wondering who pissed in this cops doughnuts?
They drove 40 feet down the road, pulled over to the curb to call Llara's father, who is a COP in Harrisburgh PA.
The "officer" drove up, and for reasons I may never understand, arrested them both for TRESPASSING!
They spent about 8 hours in the local Pokie, and were released because the state attorneys did not want to prosecute based on the arresting documents.
The final insult: Little Llara Brook wants to be a childcare worker and this will show up on her background check, unless, of course, they decline to sue the city. If they don't sue, the record of all this will be expunged.
It is absolutely amazing to me that this happened. Did 9-11 change everything dammit?
