Today in a stunning move for states rights, Governor Schwarzenegger renounced the Republican Party and took back California. With 40 heavily armed San Francisco SWAT team members he marched on the Folsom Street offices of AT&T where they removed the door to room 641A. All NSA spying equipment was removed from the room and secured by State Police at the capital.
No resistance was encountered.

Similar actions are planned for Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose and Santa Clara in the upcoming week. State Police teams have been stationed at those locations to prevent alteration of disk contents. Power to these rooms has been disconnected until the equipment can be removed.
At Folsom, there were signs that the equipment was in the process of being removed at the time it was impounded. Cables had been hastily disconnected from the ADC 50/50 fiber splitters. Servers were shut down. A half empty coffee cup, still warm, was found on a desk in the corner.
The equipment has been turned over to local experts to ascertain the contents of the Sun Storedge disk array. The total storage of this unit is approximately 5 terabytes fully configured with RAID 1. It will take some time to determine the extent to which the NSA was spying on local residents, businesses and government entities. The storage confiscated is enough to hold the library of congress.
Governors in New York, Washington, Texas, Illinois and Colorado are anxiously awaiting the Federal Government's response in order to decide on their next moves.
Snap polls taken following the actions indicate a swing of 40 points in the approval rating for the Governor, to the highest levels of his current term.
In related news, General Hayden announced he is removing himself from consideration for the top CIA job. Upon receiving the news, Vice President Cheney was rushed to a local DC hospital, complaining of chest pains.
Press Secretary Snow could not be reached for comment.
Posing for cameras with a fiber optic cable in hand, Governor Schwarzenegger was quoted as saying "The girly men who did this won't be back. But I will."
Snark, snark.
