UPDATE: The Communications Workers of America have been with us on many important fights, but they’re on the wrong side of this one. Can you call their office and let them know that you want CWA to stand with the rest fo the progressive movement – for Internet freedom? Ask to speak with the President of CWA, Larry Cohen, who authored
this letter against HR 5417, and ask him to stand with internet freedom and net neutrality.

Hey, so the House Judiciary is considering a bipartisan piece of legislation to preserve net neutrality, HR 5417. As usual, one of our progressive 'allies' screwed us over. We need your help to whip this vote, so please make some calls or send some emails and recommend this diary. If you don't have time, at least look over the list of members that we are looking to whip and see if one of them represents your district.
Let's get 'em.
Many of the Democrats on the committee have been pressured by the Communications Worker's of America to vote against it. The CWA came out publicly against net neutrality just now because the telecom companies have convinced them that this is vital to their industry. The CWA has made a grievous error here, with
SEIU taking the right side. I just learned that these are the members to contact on the Sensenbrenner bill. Here's what to say. Urge them to support the bipartisan Sensenbrenner-Conyers Net Neutrality bill (HR 5417) in the Judiciary Committee on Thursday -- and to support it without amendment. Saying without amendment is key.
Tomorrow is the markup. Click on the member name to email him/her. I can't emphasize how important this is:
