I have now watched both Tucker Carlson on MSNBC and Wolf Blitzer on CNN give us an example of how the media intends to handle Robert Kennedy Jr.'s
Rolling Stone article on the 2004 election fraud. Our democracy is under attack by criminals and these sleek, smug talking heads snipe and sneer. They engage in distraction, prevarication, sloppy research, and outright lies. When confronted with incontrovertible evidence, they drag red herrings and toss straw dogs into discussions with the few responsible citizens like Robert Kennedy Jr. who are doing their investigative reporting jobs for them.
I've really had it!
Below the fold is my e-mail to Wolf Blitzer.
Let's all send him one! In fact, let's send him thousands!
My e-mail (edited just a bit to protect my identity)
to CNN:
Wolf Blitzer (or whoever gives him his orders) should be ashamed at the manner in which the interview of Robert Kennedy Jr. was conducted. Having read the Rolling Stone article on the 2004 election fraud and having researched much of the source material referenced by Mr. Kennedy, I watched in absolute disgust and dismay as Mr. Blitzer made every attempt to downplay and cast aspersions on Mr. Kennedy's charges of fraud in the 2004 election. Why bother to have another guest to give the opposing view? Wolf Blitzer seemed bound and determined to take on that role himself.
Mr. Kennedy is correct: this is not a partisan matter. I follow the news and I make up my own mind who is spinning, lying, and prevaricating. I believe my political affiliations have nothing to do with complaining about election fraud, I am confident in my ability to think rationally and objectively, and I am not alone in those convictions. I would venture that the treatment given by CNN and the rest of the media to Mr. Kennedy's study of the 2004 election fraud will be scrutinized very, very closely by much more of the American public than you care to imagine.
Many of us are beginning to believe what some of our more "liberal" friends have been crying out for some time: This country no longer has a free press. It certainly lacks a courageous one. I exclude, of course, magazines such as Rolling Stone and The New Yorker who seem to be the only media not pursuing some agenda that requires that their spokespeople and representatives behave as unprofessionally as Mr. Blitzer did today.
Admittedly, I dashed this off in a rush immediately after watching Blitzer's "performance". I do not mean this to be a template for other e-mailed comments to the media. But for God's sakes, let's swing into action on this issue. Perhaps thousands of e-mails like mine sent every time Robert Kennedy Jr. gets this sort of treatment by the media might shame some of our country's "free press" into acting responsibly - and patriotically.
E-mail Wolf Blitzer now!
