So I'm watching the debate on C-Span, and keep hearing repeatedly from our Democratic Congressman that the "majority party" or "the other side of the isle" or "the Bush administration" are the root of this sham resolution they are "debating."
One suggestion to those on the floor and any of their staffers reading this: Use the word "Republican."
Give the American people the clear understanding of who is in charge, who's fault this war is, who is pushing this sham resolution, and who the hell they need to be mad at.
Republicans don't hesitate to use the word "Democrat." They tie their lies to the term Democrat. The even refer to the Democratic party as the "Democrat party" just as Bush did yesterday in his press conference after his "surprise" slinking in and out of the green zone.
Democrats on the floor, please for the love of all that is standard practice in public relations follow the Republican's lead and use the name of your opponent in your attacks.
People sitting at home will see only a sound byte of this debate. Most don't know what side of the isle anyone sits on. Many don't realize the Republicans are in control of the House, the Senate, the Executive and working away at the Legislative. All they know is they are not happy with their government.
For goodness sakes put a name on that dissatisfaction. Use the word "Republican."
It is not the majority party, it is the Republican majority party.
It is not the other side of the isle, it is the Republicans who control Congress.
It is not the Bush administration, is President Bush's Republican administration.
It is not a sham resolution, it is a Republican sham resolution.
Give this problem a name: Republican.
