These are a few of DailyOutrages for Thursdayy.
Now, today was more like the BushCo I know and hate! Many, many, many outrages - it was tough to pick these few, and I'm sure I missed some real outrages due to a lack of that temporal stuff called time.
So, please read the outrages and vote in the poll! (and recommend this diary, if you like it!) and pass this on to your friends.
The Rethuglicans couldn't get the hate amendment through the representatives of the people, so they're trying and end run -
here. They want to convene a Constitutional Convention, though they know they have no chance. What they're trying to do, actually, is to continue to divide Americans and radicalize their Christofascist base.
Next up, Nancy from ImpeachBushNow@yahoogroups.com, sends this information; SCOTUS has further eroded our rights by allowing no-knock searches in every instance, as reported on MSNBC. So, illegally seized evidence can now be used. This will be used to bolster the argument that warrantless wiretaps, even if eventually found illegal (yeah; right), can be used to mine evidence for prosecution - of Americans.
Third, (from Nancy, again) Rep. Henry Hyde, that paragon of virtue, claims that Kerry is responsible for 9/11. Have these people no shame??
Fourth, Brad Blog blogs the stealing of the Busby election. Are you ready for this? Workers took the voting machines home before the election! Jesus H. Christ.
Fifth, Nancy (again) documents the Pentagon, illegally, getting involved in partisan politics. The Pentagon gave Repiglicans 'talking point' books to aid them in the Iraq debate today. Goering would be proud.
Sixth, (from me), here's an article about the power company in San Antonio cutting of power to 1,300 of our warfighters at Ft. Sam Houston. Bush, in his great support of our troops, has shorted the bases in funding (as he is wont to do).
Seventh, (I told you it was a busy day!), from the moderator of OpenDebateForum@googlegroups.com (Sean), comes this report out of Media Matters. While it's not really BushCo, per se, it's from one of their propaganda mouthpieces, Chris "Dumb as a board" Matthews. In this piece, he compares Bush's press conference to the likes of Winston Churchill. Ok, 3 bottles of Pepto Bismol later, I'm feeling like I can stand up, again. (links in the article to Mathews' statement and to Bush's press conference.
Eighth (oh, this list could go for days), we have an article I found on ABC's website. Here's a blurb.
A New Jersey businessman has pled guilty to shipping components of a medium-range missile guidance system to China rather than smelt them down as required under a contract with the Department of Defense.
Michael Dorfman, Vice President for Purchasing at State Metal Industries, Camden, N.J., pled guilty Tuesday to shipping Sparrow Missile system parts to China after obtaining them from the Department of Defense as surplus. He faces five years of federal probation and a quarter of a million dollar fine.
State Metal also pled guilty. It faces three years of corporate probation and a quarter of a million dollar fine for violating export laws.
Wow! Imagine that! Selling missile guidance systems to a country that will, eventually, use them against us, and they get probation!
Then again, Israel recently sold spy plane technology to China - and nothing happened to them.
With friends and contractors (and a president who lets this happen), what do we need enemies for? They're doing Osama's job for him.
The State Metal people are: 1) Republicans and 2) traitors. Notice how often those two things go together since Bush was appointed to office? Why not write the nice people at State Metal (should be c/o State Mental Hospital) and let them know what you think?
Buddha, I'm tired, and miles to go before I sleep!
So, I'll leave it here, and with several articles left unmentioned.
Oh, one more thing, although it only made Military.com on June 12th (I take that newsletter as I'm a Nam-era vet). Remember the Dubai ports deal? I'm sure you know that they are now running those 20 ports; right??
