At my job, we have a tv in the waiting area. Often, out clients will ask if we can change the channel to put on American Idol, House, or some other tv show. If there's a lot of people in the waiting room, I'll tell them they have to get a consensus from the rest of those waiting before I'll change the channel.
Tonight, we're pretty quiet. One client walks up and asks if I can change the channel. I ask him what channel he wants to watch...
...and he says....FOX News.
UUUUuuuuuuuggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I begrudgingly get up and grab the remote and the channel guide, praying to GOD our satellite provider doesn't run Faux News. Shit. Channel 200. FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK.
What could be worse?
I point the clicker at the channel box as I watch the tv. Channel 200. The tv goes black for a moment as it changes channels. Then comes up a header for the channel and the current show...
...The O'Reilly Factor...
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Just then, an attendant comes out to speak to the client and directs them out of the waiting area to a room around the corner.
And the show hadn't even come on yet. The header was still up, but the screen was still black. And I can't tell you how relieved I was.
So....have a story like this where you were at work or something and some person who was clearly conservative asked a request of you that you didn't want to oblige, but clearly had not much of an option to resist? Please share!
