The elusive Michael Steele, the Republican Lt. Gov. running for Senate in Maryland, is holding yet another secret fundraiser with a high level Washington insider. Tomorrow Republican Senate majority leader Bill Frist will be holding an unannounced closed-door fundraiser for Steele in Ashton, Maryland (in northern Montgomery County). This event coming after a similar, yet highly publicized event the past weekend with John McCain -- the so called moderate Senator from Arizona.
Last week Steele launched his new video touting himself as an outsider, proclaiming "if you think Washington works just fine, I'm not your candidate." Well, publicly he will dress himself in moderate clothes, but if you follow the money you find otherwise. He is 100% connected with DC insiders, taking money directly from the main gears that keep the Republican political machine moving. Steele has held a secret capitol hill fundraiser with Karl Rove, a closed door fundraiser with Cheney in April, and pretended to snub Bush by avoiding him in Baltimore in May.
