From the pages of Stacey Tallitsch for Congress, Louisiana First District, is a call for action. Stacey calls on people to sign this petition and bring our troops home from this debacle that is Iraq. This is what we need in our leaders, and not that rubber stamping and walking the fence, like what we witnessed here lately, with 86 Senators that were cowards and backed away from doing what is right. If Stacey can do this while running for congress, surely more than 13 lonely souls that were stabbed in the back by their own party, exist out there. Stacey is running against a Lapdog of the GOP, and he has the voice and conviction to speak truth to power. So lets follow his lead, and that of those 13 heroes in the Senate, and make our voices heard.

Tell Congress To End The Disastrous Occupation Of Iraq
There is just no other way to put this; it is plainly self-evident and clear. The War in Iraq is a complete failure. George W. Bush's dream has wrought nothing but death and destruction to both the United States and Iraq.

Iraq is making terrorism worse. It's a breeding ground. We're sowing seeds to a bitter fruit we never wanted and certainly don't need. We need to leave as soon as possible without creating a regional war. We are not helping the Iraqis by staying. They are building their imperfect institutions and they must live with the result.

We need to get out of Iraq as soon as possible. We need to take quick action to hold those responsible for the greatest error ever perpetrated on America.

The one click form below will send your personal message to all your government representatives selected below, with the subject "Start Bringing Our Troops Home From Iraq Now." At the same time you can send your personal comments only as a letter to the editor of your nearest local daily newspaper if you like, and be added to the Voters For Peace Pledge.

There is no time like the present, to change the future. Send a message, that we will not stand by any longer and let those chicken hawks ruin the world and our nation!

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

And I'm not saying this to be a troll, I'm being serious- why? What's the point? This has been done dozens of times now and the bastards don't care. The only way congress will end this occupation is if we get a new congress.

They think they have a mandate. They don't care about petitions.

Keep pressure on your congress critters.  One thing they do is to log phone calls- what else are those congressional staffers doing?  We pay their salaries, they are supposed to represent us, so call the toll-free number and ask for your congress critter by name.

Yes, we need a new congress, but this one also needs to hear from thousands of citizens.

Don't just give up, that is what the GOP wants!! Fight like they never said no. A defeatist mentality will win nothing. If you believe, then fight like it's for your very last breath. Stand tall Arkin!
