For more on Donna Edwards see: my initial diary on Donna and Howie Klein's entry on Firedoglake.

She really is an inspirational candidate and just a fabulous person who's running because she believes she can make a real difference as the representative for the people of MD-04.  She will fight for progressive values and working families.  I urge you to donate to her campaign -- she needs to raise a substantial amount of money to really challenge Al Wynn and his corporate donors.  Let's send a real progressive to Congress from a true blue district!

She should be a Netroots supported candidate!!!!

Also, (from Peace Action Montgomery):

"Peace is Patriotic" rally on Sunday, July 2, at 3:00, 17715 Meetinghouse Road, Sandy Spring.  Get inspired by Granny Jailbirds!  Meet Donna Edwards, peace candidate for congressional district 4.  Help kick off the Peace Voter Pledge Campaign in Montgomery County.  And--have some fun and listen to some great music.  A terrific rhythm and blues group from DC, BTNP, will get us moving.  We hope you can come, and if you do, you'll be glad that you did.   (No charge!)

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

past 11 pm here....but all this talk of Netroots Endorsements got me thinking that I need to post about Donna in the evening, as opposed to early in the morning. :)

I hope the Central, Mountain, and Pacific Time zones folks will give Donna a look.  I don't tend to gush all that much about just any candidate....Donna is really one of those few that just stand out for me.

  •  Considering Al Wynn's voting record (0+ / 0-)

in such an overwhelmingly Democratic district, I'm kind of surprised that your diaries about Donna Edwards don't gain more traction here. She seems like the kind of candidate that the netroots would get behind.

Sharon - you're right that the East Coasters are in bed or should be, unless you're up late like me watching a leaky roof in this mess of a weather we're having here in MD-4.

And you're absolutely right that Donna deserves netroots endorsement and enthusiasm.  Wynn has got to go.  And Donna is not just a protest candidate, she's the real deal.

So, please, be sure to post another diary in primetime blogging time for East Coasters.  Especially the DC/MD/VA folks.  This is the one race for all of us in the DC metro area (besides Webb, I suppose) that progressives seeking to take back the party (and the delegation) should be revved up about.

    Keep up the good work.
