I used to have a repug friend. She is 81 years old and fairly moderate. However, she has a habit of getting really radical at times. (Yes, she is a FOX fan.) Tonight I listened to her rant and rave that Warren Buffit should have given his money to help "Merica," and how old and ugly Helen Thomas is. You finally get to the point where you can no longer be polite.
She's also one of those "surrender monkeys" who scream, "Take all of my constitutional rights away, and just make me feel safe, Mr. President, sir."
Follow the drama below:
So, during the midst of her rant against Helen Thomas, which included, "She's physically ugly and her mind is ugly too," I just hung up on her. I followed that with this e-mail:
"I am sorry, but thanks to Bush our country is so divided that I can no longer be friends with you. When you attacked Helen Thomas, who is only about 10 times as smart and successful as you, I just saw red. How dare you attack a woman of her stature? When it comes to attractiveness, you don't want to be pointing fingers. Unfortunately, most women do not age as well as men unless they have a dozen or so face lifts. Helen Thomas was probably not very attractive to begin with. She is now 81 years old, but she's not sitting home on her butt watching soap operas, so give her some credit. On many issues we agree, but when you let your "rabid repug self" loose, I can't stand you. I'm sure that the feeling is mutual. You are one of those people who have bought into the "terrorist, terrorist" mantra so thoroughly that you are willing to shred the Constitution, and give up every single damn right you have. I'm not. "
The interesting thing about this woman is that she has two sons and a grandson. One of her sons is a Democrat who does not vote; one is a Libertarian who says that he would vote for Hillary because she is a woman, and she also has a grandson who is a Democrat. I guess that it's really hard to change your party affiliation when you are 81 years old.
Do you think that I was too hard on her?
