Now, this probably should be a comment in an open thread, but there hasn't been one in a while.
I am sick of the whole gay marriage debate. It is time to kill the republican talking points. They claim that gay marriage will destroy marriage and that 'traditional marriage' is the only acceptable form. They look to their bible for justification, but seem to forget a couple key facts...
Marriage in the bible was not between one man and one woman. In fact, in both the bible and the Qu'ran allowed men to marry multiple wives. King Solomon, According to 1 Kings 11:3, had 700 wives and 300 concubines. So, polygamy is traditional marriage. If they were to truly protect marriage, they would outlaw adultery, which is forbidden in the Ten Commandments (which out laws are
supposedly based upon), but does not have a law in our legal system. They would abolish divorce, which, until King James, was against biblical laws. IMHO, if they would like to return to "traditional marriage", they should implement these before worrying about the homosexuals.
