I haven't posted here in awhile, and in that gap of postings, there have been a lot of issues, which I have been interested in talking about. But the one that really interests me right now, is our government's corruption. So far the stench of corruption in our government is getting pretty smelly, and once we open some more doors to the these supposed illustrious halls, I'm sure we'll get even far worse stenches, but right now, we are in the beginning stages. So I have an idea. I'm sick of there being so much greed and graft in our nation's elected branches. So I'm going to propose this idea, tell me what you think about...
But only if you'll follow me after the jump...
With the onslaught of pointless constitutional amendments this summer, I would propose an amendment that would not only be considered a valid issue, but also be considered a necessary one. I think we at the local level, should call upon our state governments, to push for a constitutional amendment to require congressman and senators, the president, vice-president, the cabinet, and their paid underlings, to be investigated on a regular basis for signs of wrong-doing by an independent review board of three democrats and three republicans. I don't trust anyone, be they democrat or republican or whatever, to really be able to get away from the dogma that, "absolute power corrupts absolutely." I believe that the only way to keep our elected officials from putting their proverbial hands in the cookie jar, is to have a camera on that cookie jar, watching their every move. Some may say this seems a bit harsh, and that the republicans are just showing their corrupted ways as they control all the levers in the government. I would say we've had corruption forever in this country, and its about damn time we started keeping our officials on their toes. I'm sick of corruption, I'm sick of the lies and the greed, and I'm sick of our elected officials. I want honesty and truth, and the few who are, seem to never be able to hear their voices heard, over the din of corruption.
What do you think?
