Progress with regard to the War on Terror is occuring.
Not the faux 'war on terror' declared by Commander Cuckoo Bananas, but a true terrorist war, declared in 1975 when Pol Pot's Khmer Rouge captured Phnom Penh, and orchestrated the destruction of 1/4 of the population of Cambodia.

The Khmer Rouge were/are a homocidal/genocidal group who happened to take control of the government of a country whose past was instrumental to the entire people of South-east Asia. Throughout Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam, there are monuments to the might of the Cambodian Empire who dominated the region a thousand years ago.
The KR took the lessons of Marx, Lenin, Stalin and Mao, and warped them to degree that Marx, Lenin and even Stalin and Mao would have barely recognized. They murdered people because they were technicians, because they were teachers, because they could speak French, because they were wore glasses, because they went to school.
The prison camp, Tuol Sleng, where you can go today to visit, used to be a high school. During the four years in the late 1970s, thousands upon thousands of people died there.
I was there in March 1994. The most disconcerting thing about the place was that it resembled any school you might visit in South East Asia. To think that this place, the slaughterhouse of 10,000 people, looked like any one of the twenty schools I worked at as a Peace Corps Volunteer was the most horrible place I ever visited.
And I realized that Hell doesn't have to be underground lakes of fire with devils poking people with pitchforks.
