you need to stand for something big. universal health care is that issue. it is something you know a lot about - both the abysmal, yet extravagant current state of healthcare & the very hard struggle to push any truly helpful legislation through the congress. this gives you the opportunity to display your toughness & resolve. don't back down an inch.
it gives you a reason to be tough, tough about a compassionate issue.
national health care is a monster. it reaches everyone. its effect on the economy would be tremendous. its effect on the national psyche profoundly liberating. it seems to me that half the country is a serious illness or injury from financial ruin. very few people that i know in construction have medical benefits beyond worker's comp. huge issue, titanic task, a platform that allows you to speak above the petty stuff. gay marriage, flag burning? such puny stuff, nothing the mother of american universal heath care thinks about that much.
senator clinton you are known for your intelligence & your craftiness. those are marvelous qualities when you use them for the betterment of the nation. they only seem to take on a pejorative color when they are used to promote one's self. use your powers for the common good. be the woman on the postage stamps, the face on the ten dollar bill, the lady in the history books whose medical system saved millions of lives, be the face of national health care.
nobody else wants to wrestle this. i'm telling you, use your smarts & cleverness, use your charm & wit - get us universal single payer healthcare & you will not only get my support, you will deserve it.
