GOP talking points were slow to come on America's birthday, so the WaPo had to go local on the editorial page.
When a charter member of the Bush's "Axis of Evil" launches at least six missiles, you'd think the WaPo could awake themselves and write an editorial, like the rest of the world's newspapers.
But no...They go local Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission
What's up with that?
Picture this:
Burgers and dogs are burnt, the beer is warm. Fred Hiatt and his minions are sitting around Conference Room GOP in the Washington Post building.
They stare at the fax machine, the computer, waiting, wanting, the GOP missive on North Korea so that they can transcribe it as their own, and put out in Wednesday's edition.
But, the fireworks are starting. The cocktail weenies are being passed around, and no missive is forthcoming.
It never comes. What to do?
They go to the well and pull out the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, Hastert's Pet Projects and Texas Redistricting. Isn't this stuff old news? I mean like two weeks old? C'mon.
I smell filler.
Take it for what it's worth. Dear Leader does not like to be bothered on vacation. First Katrina, now North Korea.
The Washington Post told me more about their editorial page today than I could read in a year.
