I visited Barbara Boxer's website in search of her local office address (which I intend to visit quite soon and express my dismay on her support for Senator Lieberman to her field officer) when I finally saw again one good thing the senator has to say.
I find the best way to find U.S. Senator information is to
visit this website, and at
Senator Boxer's web site, I found this
page with the following note:
...please note that mail sent to Congressional offices in Washington, DC must go through a very lengthy screening process. Letters are not only irradiated but are also vacuumed for possible contaminated substances. Because this process often delays letters for weeks, you may prefer to write to one of our California offices to ensure that your letter is delivered in a timely fashion.
Although I have mentioned this before in a comment, seeing the note again leads me to believe the information the page offers is important, and deserves a diary. So for those of us who feel our physical letters carry more weight than the ephemera of digital correspondence, there is some wise advice from Senator Boxer.
Will post with a report from Senator Boxer's Los Angeles office when I get the chance.
