Reed may have saved himself with a strong performance in last Sunday's debate and a timely endorsement from
Zell Miller. Yet, even if Reed survives the July 18th primary, he will be already staggering as he begins the general election.
On the Democratic side, Greg Hecht has the best chance at killing Reed's first attempt at elected office. (Reed has made no secret of his eventual goal to run for President.) Hecht is an adept fund-raiser and strong debater, and, more importantly, he has the resume to back it up. If you get a chance, visit Hecht's site
http://www.greghecht.com/ and help-out or
contribute. Maybe we can avoid a costly run-off.
Oddly, with Reed's star-power and Hecht's good chances at winning a statewide office in Georgia, this Lieutenant Governor's race may be the most-watched election in the South.
