I want to stray away from politics tonight, seeing as it is the night of baseball's All-Star Game. Hey, people have talked about more off topic things on this blog before ;-).
Often too much credit is given to steroid abusing baseball players and not enough attention is paid to those who earned their career through hard work. Paul Lo Duca is one of the good ones, working his way up from the farm leagues, working for years until he finally made the majors with the Dodgers. he always hit above .300 and was loved by Dodgers fans. He may only be 5'8'', but he made a huge impact. Then sad news came that Lo Duca, the Dodgers only All-Star, had been traded away to Florida for pitcher Brad Penny. He literally cried in the dug out when he heard the news of what is now seen as one of former GM Paul DePodesta's worst errors. Now he is a member of the New York Mets, but is still cheered at Dodger Stadium everytime he comes up to bat. So best of luck tonight, Paul. LA fans are still rooting for ya. You will always be a Dodger in our minds.
