Hello all. I'm sure by now we've all become familiar with our own netroots renaissance man,
Brian Keeler. For those who haven't heard about Brian, or have just been out of the loop for the past couple of months, I refer you to this
FP diary by Markos about Brian and his Crashing of the Gate in New York State's 41st Senate District which covers all of Columbia County and most of Dutchess County.
Brian received the endorsement of Eliot Spitzer in June.
Brian is campaigning to unseat Republican Stephen Saland who has held this seat since 1990 and between the State Assembly and Senate has held statewide office for 26 years. Brian's platform isn't very complicated and includes Clean Money/Clean Election campaign finance reform, meaningful property tax reform and funding for our schools, safe and clean drinking water via strong well testing legislation and reforming the way politics are handled in Albany to better serve the residents of the State of New York.
On the heels of Monday's hugely successful 'Blograiser' (Tom Ball ROCKS!), I'm excited and proud to say that I've signed on as a volunteer with the Keeler2006 campaign. After finally meeting Brian and Audrey (Brian's awesome campaign manager), as well as Gary (another volunteer who puts the Energizer Bunny to shame), it was an easy decision to make. However, as impressive and energetic as these fine folks are, it's going to take a lot more in order for Brian to win this seat. It's going to take a grassroots effort throughout the District and that's where you come in. We need your help and we're reaching out and asking for it. Whether it's writing LTEs, showing your support at campaign events, fundraising or just plain old telling your friends and family about Brian - we'd appreciate your help.
So folks, if you live in the area and would like to help out, shoot me an email. My email addy is henry(at)keeler2006(dot)com. With your help, we can turn this state senate district blue and move the Democratic party one step closer to taking control of the senate and moving New York State forward.
