Can anyone explain to me just why Barrak Obama has contributed $2100 to Lieberman's primary campaign against Ned Lamont through his PAC HOPEFUND?
HopefundAmerica.com lists Lieberman among Obama's supported candidates. The FEC committee transfer report of the Hopefund PAC indicates that Obama gave $2100 to Lieberman's primary campaign, and the same amount to his general election campaign.
So, why is Obama giving money to defeat Ned Lamont?
Why, with all Lieberman's dodgy behavior over Obama's contretemps with McCain, is Obama supporting Lieberman at all?
Could this be yet more politics as usual from Senator Obama?
UPDATE: Comments produced the question of when the contributions were made. The answer, $2,100 on 2/28/05 & $2,100 on 3/29/05, is before Lamont's campaign (Lamont himself gave Lieberman $500 around this time). So the issue really isn't Obama preferring Lieberman over Lamont (though he certainly hasn't tossed Lamont any bones), it's what's he's going to do if Lieberman loses, and tries to fold Obama's general election contribution into an independent bid?
