This is only going to barely not break the single-line diary rule, but I found a gem on foxnews.com that I'd like to hold up for all to see.
Mike Straka writes these hateful columns called "Grrr!" over at foxnews.com and no doubt on his own syndicated site. Usually, he writes about "oblivions" (now it's "obliviots") who annoy him.
a pinch more after the fold.
The irony for me has always been that Mike Straka seems angry at republicans, while suggesting it's "the others" (us) who draw his ire. He rants about walmartians and obnoxious suburbanites who don't pay attention when driving their gas guzzling suvs. sort of the same stuff that bugs me, but to a much greater degree. Mike Straka suffers no annoyances.
So, today when I was reading his most recent column, you can imagine how humorous it was to discover that he has become his own worst enemy. I'll only post the punch line for fair use reasons but in summary, he was hearing an "obliviot" on her cell phone behind him over his headphones and he couldn't take it anymore.
In fact, there was nobody sitting in the seat behind me at all. I looked across the aisle, in front of me, even a few seats behind, and there was nary a cell phone in sight.
The Siiii, Siiii, Siiii that was driving me crazy was actually part of the percussion during the song that was playing on my radio.
There I was, turning up the volume to drown out the Obliviot behind me, and all the while, it was Dire Straits driving me nuts.
And there it is, folks. That's republicans; so full of contempt and anger they can't see they're so angry at themselves.
