The United States War On Iraq was based on lies from stem to stern. Contrary to George Bush and his lying cabinet secretaries:
There were no Iraqi weapons of mass destruction. There were no Iraqi cruise missiles able to reach the United States. There was no nuclear weapons program. There was no new yellowcake buying operation. Iraq did not aid Al Qaida. There was no Iraqi involvement in 9-11. Indeed, as the FBI recently noted, there is no evidence that Saddam Hussein was involved in it, as opposed to grabbing credit for another's deeds. There were no mobile bioweapons labs. There were no shipments of CBW devices into Syria. We did not know where the weapons of mass destruction were stored. In fact, they did not exist.
Furthermore, it is clear that an intelligence fabrication system was established to leave George Bush and his Cabinet of Liars with plausible deniability that they did not know all these things. OK, Now I've finished saying good things about Bush. More below the fold.
There was no significant propaganda before the war that we were fighting for Iraqi democracy. The Iraqi people are not better off now than they were previously. Those lies was invented after the first phase of the war ended, in order to help the American people forget the last pile of Bush lies.
Under these conditions, the War ON Iraq must be called as what it was, a Republican War of Aggression on a country that had not attacked us and did not threaten us.
Withdrawing from Iraq is not surrender. It is recognition of truth. The truth is that the War ON Iraq was an immoral war fought for evil ends. Continuing the War ON Iraq is continuing a war of aggression.
Once upon a time, anti War in Vietnam protesters had a saying: When you are being raped, your demand is IMMEDIATE WITHDRAWAL. The Rape of Iraq by the Bush and his supporters in Congress--that's anyone who opposes ending the war--should be brought to an immediate end.
Finally, in recognition of Kos's objectives here, be sure you nominate an antiwar Presidential candidate in 2008, or you can be certain that several antiwar parties (Libertarian and Green for two) will be filling the gap.
