With the disgraceful response to New Orleans residents during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the indication was that the Bush Administration didn't care about black Americans. Now, with his incomprehensible and puzzling behavior at the G-8 summit this past week, it seems to me that Mr. Bush sees the world as a simple game of 1-2-3.
During the Controversial and stolen 2000 Presidential Election, Mr. Bush said that he would bring integrity to the office of the Presidency.
Now with his "Animal House" like behavior at the G-8 summit, the word integrity doesn't register in his vocabulary. Nor, I believe he could even spell it if you give him the "inte" and "grity" on a silver platter.
It was deplorable beyond belief to watch as the President of the United States, so arrogantly and willing to eliminate our prestigious reputation in front of a world wide audience. And for what? To appeal to individuals like Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, and Ann Coulter who all, like Mr. Bush, see the world as a simple game of 1-2-3.
In the wake of 9/11, I, like some Americans wrap themselves around President Bush's swagger and pride that those he perpetrated the attacks "would hear from us." It was like a scene from an action movie, where the country is being attack and the President, so bodily declares vengeance on the individuals who've attacked us.
And that's what has come to.
Our world under the Bush Administration is like one big action movie.
The only difference is, the actor playing the commander-in-chief is a faux cowboy from Connecticut who's been given everything to him on a silver platter, including the Presidency.
Swearing, sneering and talking with food in his mouth while his man-servant, Tony Blair watches with the look of a emotionally abused wife, made me a little quesy. The President of the United States shouldn't be reduced to a laughing joke, but, Mr. Bush seems to be enjoying the task of being the world's court jester.
I can only say that a court jester shouldn't be allowed to rub the shoulder of the Prime Minister of Germany, but for some reason they allowed him to do so.
What, did Mr. Bush think rubbing Ms. Merkel's shoulders could result in a quickie with one of the most powerful women in Europe?
The scene was equally disturbing because it proved that Mr. Bush doesn't quite grasp the importance of being the leader of the free world. He thinks being President is just napping half of the day and jogging. The world could burn itself and George Bush would be in great shape.
I don't ask for much, but all I ask for is Mr. Bush to at least show that he is capable and intelligent enough to fulfill the duties of President. However, I don't ever see that happening.
I mentioned earlier that with the horrid response to Hurricane Katrina, the indication was the Bush Cabal didn't care about Black Americans.
Well, the answer to that question was answered this week with his appearance at the NAACP.
Had Mr. Bush really cared about Black Americans, he wouldn't have snubbed them for 5 straight years. His appearance this week was nothing more than a political ploy to rally some support for the GOP.
Probably the most honest thing that came from his fake Texas accent was his acknowledgment that Blacks don't trust the GOP.
Yes, and leaving them stranded to die in New Orleans and snubbing them for 5 years will cause Black folks to distrust the party of Jerry Falwell and Bill O'Reilly.
Mr. Bush tried to look like a leader by meeting the detractors head on, but he still looked like the Bumbling fool-in-Chief. A dishonest, Political hack who seeks the love and support of a community who will continue to distrust the GOP.
Karl Rove has a mess on his hands. Bush is radioactive. Republicans seeking re-election in the house don't want to be seen in public with this man. To them, Mr. Bush is like a mistress who won't go away.
Mr. Rove will try everything in his sick mind to prove that the Democrats haven't changed. That they want peace and understanding with the terrorists, while the GOP under Bush wants to bring them to justice.
This week should open the eyes of many who still have a hard-on for viewing this President as a moral figure who should be disqualified from criticism.
If the President sees the world as a game how are we ever going to recover our reputation from the rubble?
