Just saw this on MSN & MSNBC - Andrea Yates has been found not guilty of murdering her five children by reason of insanity. Details are sketchy at this point, and MSNBC says they will be updating the story.

Apparently, the jury did deliberate for eleven hours, and asked for photos of the family, and transcripts of Mrs. Yates' defense psychiatrist's testimony.
Texas law states that a person can only be found not guilty by reason of insanity if they did not know that what they were doing was wrong at the time. I personally believe that psychosis is a valid insanity defense, and Mrs. Yates was a diagnosed psychotic.
