(not that you need it, me thinks)
At long last, my wife and I are going to take a mini vacation to Vermont. We'll probably leave after rush-hour to avoid the insanity of I78.
It has been a tough year for us because my business has been really slow. Worse, the reclusive nature I have developed as a result of 7 years of freelancing apparently makes me less marketable as a potential employee. I figure that standing in a creek with my cousin trying to catch dinner for a week will help me to shed my creepyness. One can only hope, I suppose.
Anyway, I thought I would write this diary before I go to wish Mr. Lamont, Kos, and all of you CT voters the best of luck on Tuesday. While I am relatively new here, I am grateful to be a tiny part of such an immensely important, brilliant, and dignified movement to recapture the power of the individual citizen. It means the world to me and I don't know where I'd be if it weren't for the gifts I receive every single day.
All of you serve as a reminder that none of us are alone in any struggle. Nor can anyone do a single thing to "implode" our growing strength. For that, I am eternally grateful and hope that each of you can see it and stand proud for your efforts, however small (just like me.)
All the best! I'll catch you next week. If you hear pots clanging in the Bennington area on Tuesday, It's probably me!
PS: Tomorrow's my B-day, but more importantly, tomorrow is Helen Thomas' B-day as well. Please be sure to wish her the happiest.
:)
