Day by day, the situation only gets worse in the Middle East. This administration will keep trotting out its apologists and warmongers. They will not take the steps necessary to bring peace.
We must try to bring pressure on Israel from other directions. One place to start is with our representatives. We have elected Senators and Congressmen who should be speaking out.
Below is a copy of my letter to Senators Feingold and Kohl. I invite you to write to them as well - and write to your own Senators. We must try to stop this senselessness.
Dear Senator Feingold,
Israel has gone too far. It is time to put a stop to the senseless devastation.
Even if you do not have an ounce of influence with the administration, and even if you do not want to alienate yourself from potential supporters, you could pick up the telephone and call Ehud Olmert and tell him to stop the senseless bombing.
Please use common sense. One does not get peace by making war. It is simple. The bombing is not going to improve the situation.
At this point, Israel is simply spreading chaos and creating new enemies - just as the US is doing in Iraq. There is no difference.
Act now. There is no time to waste.
