...of ten Arab human rights activists from Khuzestan province in the south-west of Iran. They were sentenced to death after secret trials in June. The Iranian supreme court upheld their death sentences on July 25.
A further 22 Arab activists are expected to be handed death sentences at the end of their trials, which are being held in secret with no independent observers allowed to attend the court. They are victims of trumped up charges, for which there is no evidence...
The Tehran regime is now holding Ahwazi children as young as 2 and 4 years old as hostages in prison, in a bid to force their political and human rights activist parents (who are on the run and in hiding) to surrender to the police. If the parents hand in themselves to the authorities, their children will be released. But the partents will face execution.
In the last year, 25,000 Ahwazis have been arrested, 131 executed and 150 have disappeared (presumed killed and buried in unmarked graves), according to the Ahwazi Human Rights Organization (see more background below).
The Ahwazis are one of Iran's several persecuted national minorities who are subjected to racist victimisation by the Tehran regime. Other maltreated minorities include the Balochis, Turkmen and Azeris.
Iran is a racist state, with a covert agenda for the ethnic cleansing of the Ahwazi Arab people.

These are the kinds of people that Israel is fighting. These are the kinds of people that we are fighting. Say what you will about Israel blowing up bridges, but the Jews and my kind - homosexuals - have this in common. The regime in Iran, the ascendant Shi'a political movement (backed by Iran) in Iraq, Hezbulla, Syria, would kill us all if given the chance.
You can say that I am wrong to support Israel because Israel causes "collateral damage", and I agree there has been too much of that. Israel, along with Hezbullah MUST stop targeting civilians, period. Hezbullah also has to stop hiding behind women and children and holy places.
However, honestly, I'd rather have a hundred Israels, and a million Jewish liberal friends than trust anyone in favor of, supporting, or allied with the Islamic extremists that want their way, and only their way, in the Middle East and beyond and will give no quarter, allow no argument, hear no dissent for their twisted view of "God" and their holy book.
Hezbullah and its allies wins and my kind, my friends, die. More women are abused, imprisoned, killed. Gays are hung or worse. Jews are exterminated. More planes get flown into buildings, subways are blown up, muslims whose views differer from that of these hell spawn mullahs are disappeared.
Sounds like a fun world for everyone, an "Inquisition" magnified to a power beyond what the Church of Rome ever considered.
I could never, ever, support, even if Israel is acting stupidly, the kind of people that make up Hezbullah - murderers, thugs, bigots, religious extremists and butchers.
Iran: Retry Ethnic Arabs Condemned to Death
Iranian Arabs Accused of Plotting Against State
Iran's judiciary should rescind the death sentences of at least 10 Iranians of Arab origin convicted of plotting against the state, and retry them before courts that meet international fair trial standards, Human Rights Watch said today. At least 10 Iranians of Arab origin have been condemned to death following secret trials in the southwestern province of Khuzistan, which has seen ethnic unrest among its Iranian-Arab population in the past year.

Iran: Imprisoned Dissident Dies in Custody
Investigate Mohammadi's Suspicious Death
The Iranian government should immediately allow an independent investigation into the suspicious death in prison of student activist Akbar Mohammadi, Human Rights Watch said today. Human Rights Watch said that if responsibility for Mohammadi's death in Tehran's Evin prison on July 30 lies with the prison or other state authorities, the relevant individuals should be identified and prosecuted.

Bush has been an idiot for the way he's gone about things, and Israel's tactics are a mess, but they are right about one thing. These people, these Islamic religious fanatics, have to be stopped. How they do that has to be handled more intelligently, but they do have to go.
