The democrats have shot themselves in the foot again. I believe that the loss in the election hurts democrats. What we have done is made it more easy for a republican to take this seat.
I believe that Lieberman voted with the party about 90 percent of the time. How is that not good enough? Is it 100 percent or nothing?
Unbelieveable.
The most likely scenario, I believe, is that Lieberman wins the election and keeps his seat. In this scenario, we have alienated a democrat that agreed and voted with us most of the time. Now he is going to be less likely to adhere to the party line.
The second most likely scenario is that a fractured democratic party produces a republican victory.
The third scenario is that Lamont wins, and if he wins, we gain. If he votes the party line and if I was right and Lieberman voted with the party 90 percent of the time, we gain 10 percent.
Is a 10 percent gain worth the risks? I am sure to you liberals, it is but to us conservative democrats, its not.
Of course, all that being said, its not my senator, its yours.
