Joe Lieberman is not an Independent candidate for Senate from Connecticut. Will everybody please stop saying that?
Joe Lieberman is now the candidate for Senate on the Connecticut for Lieberman Party (CFL). He should be recognized as such as he chose it. So let us all use the correct label for Joe - Sen. Joseph Lieberman (CT-CFL). Joe is NOT an indepdendent. Why? Because that name is ALREADY TAKEN in Connecticut!
It has been explained previously here on DKos that Connecticut has strict rules for the naming of a political party. You cannot use the name of another party in your party name. When Joe calls himself an "Indepdedent Democrat", he is taking the names of TWO other Connecticut Politcal parties - the Democrats, and the Independents. Sorry, Joe, no can do.
Everybody between here and Tibet knows that Ned Lamont is now the Democratic candidate for US Senate from Connecicut. The Independent candidate from Connecticut is John Mertens - not Joe Lieberman!
Mertens info here:
http://www.mertens2006.com/...
The Chairman of the Independent Party in Connecticut is Michael J. Telesca, Waterbury. He is also their candidate for Lt. Governor. More information about the Indepdendent Party candidates in Connecticut can be found here:
http://www.independentpartyct.com/...
So let's all stop calling Joe Lieberman the Independent candidate for Senate from Connecticut. Let's start calling him what he is: The candidate on the Connecticut for Lieberman Party.
Sen. Joe Lieberman (CT-CFL) - (A party that has about 25 members).
Uh oh, looks like someone already registered that web address:

Sorry, Joe.
PS - Kossacks - please repost this elsewhere on the internets so the MSM can finally give Joe the proper name - CT-CFL!
