I sat here tonight, with my jaw hanging down to my knees.
And might some argue, as some have already argued, that Lamont is the al Qaeda candidate?"
That, from a (roll of my eyes) major network. That a major network, that
any network, could say that with a straight face, here in the US, just boggles my mind.
And then I remembered. This is the US, where the media has always, when the chips were down, protected that monumental moron that is sitting in the White House.
After all, didn't they make the great issue of the presidential campaign in 2000 the fact that Gore claimed to have invented the internet? That Gore was seeking help to become an alpha male? Every day I'd open the paper, expecting discussion about the issues, like how Bush's tax cut proposals would bankrupt us (they have), that compassionate conservatism meant that someone would have their arm around your shoulder as the knife was going in between your shoulder blades. (Hey there, New Orleans)
Wasn't the great issue of 2004 whether John Kerry was in Cambodia? And how `stiff' he was? I mean, was there any press on how imbecilic Bush sounds when he speaks? Of course not.
And every day, every goddam day, in 2000 and 2004, I was disappointed.
So why am I sitting here slack-jawed that they're claiming Ned Lamont (read: Democrat resurgence) equals al Qaeda?
Neoconservative policy is a complete and utter failure. I cannot think of a single policy this administration has implemented that has been beneficial to American citizens. Not one.
But think about who it has been beneficial to. Money. Money, whether it be from corporations or wealthy people. Whoever has money to buy the vote they want gets the law they want.
Tax cuts? Subsidies? Ignoring lawbreaking? You name it, it's up for sale.
I'll ask again, why am I sitting here slack-jawed that they're claiming Ned Lamont equals al Qaeda? Gee, maybe they can scare enough people by the November elections. Because, see, MSM, like much of corporate America, wants to continue to reap the eggs laid by their golden (and amply paid for) goose. Bush.
