When Kay Bailey Hutchison told the Austin American Statesman that she would, in fact, debate Barbara Ann, she said "I think debates are certainly worthwhile, and I certainly look forward to having one in the right format this fall." On the issue of how many debates however, Hutchison said, "I'm sure if we have one, it will be replayed many times. And so people will have opportunity to see the differences."
Asked about her opponent's change of heart, Barbara Ann Radnofsky pointed to her own grassroots support after 475 campaign trips, and to polling data, including a July Zogby poll showing three consecutive months of decline by Sen. Hutchison to a historic low of 52%.
As far as Sen. Hutchison's suggestion of replaying one debate multiple times as a substitute for a series of debates, Radnofsky said, "That's like having one playoff game, watching it on video seven times, and calling it the World Series."

I will be liveblogging the debate here on Daily Kos. Barbara Ann has suggested September 29th as the date since both campaigns are scheduled to be in Dallas.
