"This nation is at war with Islamic fascists"
- George Bush August 10, 2006
The day the enemy became 'Islamic fascists'
The president turns a new phrase to describe the 'war on terrorism'
MSNBC Aug 11, 2006
"Islamic fascist"--or "Islamofascist" as it's popularly spelled on the Internet--is the latest explosive in the right's semantic arsenal..."
Newsweek "Escalation of Terminology" August 12, 2006
House Bill H. CON. RES. 437
Expressing the sense of Congress that United States officials who leak sensitive classified national security secrets should be vigorously investigated and, if need be, brought to justice. (Introduced in House)
"...the United States is currently engaged in a worldwide war on terror against Islamofascism..."
Congresswoman Katherine Harris (R-FL), June 27, 2006.
It is wrong to miscall terrorists "islamo-fascists" because it is inaccurate, and it demeans our nation's greatest military struggle. I know the Republicans want to own World War II to improve their rotting brand, but that fact is that the Democratic Party led that particular military effort.
Republicans are only associated with military glory because they monger for wars amidst glorious bouts of patriotism. Fake, over-inflated "patriotism" is the smoke that obscures the mirror which, showing the Republican soul, is a very ugly view indeed.
According to [Senator Rick] Santorum the constant use of "The War on Terror" rhetoric is erroneous because it is akin to "declaring war on a tactic." Santorum went to say that "The War on Terror" rhetoric was the product of a disinformation campaign and exclaimed that "Terror is not the enemy. The enemy are Islamic fascists." The term "Islamic fascists" appeared to have mass appeal and was used regularly by the rest of the speakers throughout the evening.

Republican's do spit on our nation's supreme struggle and victory in World War II when they label "fascist" a stateless network of rag-tag oil-funded religious maniacs. No matter their rhetorical punch, Republicans may not adopt erroneous terms that denigrate the Greatest Generation simply because they have over-exploited the word "terrorist" and their essential failure meet that challenge is becoming clear.
In World War II, Americans mobilized for war through shared sacrifice. Victory Gardens were outlaid for the war effort, war-funding taxes were introduced and paid faithfully by our nation, new skills were quickly learned and fears faced with courage and community.
In the "War on Terror" the Republicans have purposefully kept Americans from sacrifice. Republicans want our citizenry to submit to their rule, not join together to combat a true enemy.
Fascism killed Over 56 million, with 1/2 million American dead. Conservatively. Fascism is a RIGHT WING nationalist concept of merging Corporate, Military and Religious power with the State. Our current RIGHT WING President had better learn this, considering the blood sacrificed by our country for the sin of misjudging it.
1/2 million American dead from World War II. And what is the enemy our faithless Republican conservatives wish to capitalize upon? What are the statistics of this Great Enemy which the Republicans have used to seize the reins of power, steal our Treasury, exploit our military, and use to their own ends?

Fascism is a definition of a State's government. Terrorists have no state.
Fascism - totalitarian philosophy of government that glorifies the state and nation and assigns to the state control over every aspect of national life.
- HighBeam Encyclopedia
The State is what Republicans want everyone to pretend the terrorists have. But they don't. Terrorists have no state. That is why they are terrorists. This lack of a State is the grand error we are all supposed to ignore. Armies are in place to defend and fight a State. The terrorists have no state.
Ergo, the Republican methods of fighting terror is doomed to failure. Israel recently made this alleged mistake, too.
Terrorists don't own a state. If they did, fascism may or may not apply. But then, they would cease to be terrorists, for such a group would have the resources of the State-- a judicial system, infrastructure, an army, a press. Borders.
"The great masses of people. . .will more easily fall victims to a big lie than to a small one."
- Adolph Hitler
Our Prince George isn't very good about borders, as we've seen. The whole movement of "Ye Old Conservatives" have proven themselves utterly false as they stand before our citizenry and conflate fascism, a well-studied and defined governmental phenomenon, with terrorism. The Republicans only (cue Bolton) ONLY skill is pretending to be able to lead. If the Conservative Young Prince leader and their dunce confederacy of right-winger blow-weaks cannot identify the difference between fascism and terrorism than their ideology is unfit for command.
Tell me, any lurking conservatives, if Conservative beliefs work so well, why haven't they ever? You and your ideas are what society grows out of. Liberalism is the hard-learned key to our survival, is why.
Admittedly, Americans are not acting well right now. We are the stymied residue of willful ignorance, crap food, TeeVee, materialism, racism and intolerance. Our citizenry is well-populated by what spoiled children grow to become. We are, yes, self-centered boobs.
And a criminal network has schemed into power--we all know it. It has happened before in our nation and it flushes away. We do allow the stealing.
But what we should not as Americans accept is power-mad criminals seeking to blur the sacrifice and bravery of this nation's moment of true peril. This is not the Republican's county: if they wish this truth to be tested they should announce themselves our Kings. The Right-wing does not dare, with good reason. That is why they lie.
And if we do face a rising terrorist enemy, it is because of Republican treason, hubris, corruption and poor governance. Republicans do not wish to solve the problem, they wish to expand it.
So if someone is to speak about World War II and fascism, it will be the Democratic Party supporters and not the Tory Republicans.
