Good evening. Before we begin, a word from our sponsors, the Top Comment Team!
"With the approach of November 7 the focus of kos and all Kossacks should be to do whatever we can whatever is necessary - to effect progressive success in those elections and initiatives. While Top Comments is a meta endeavor, every single Top Comments miner is committed without reservation to that success. We would like to ask all Kossacks who visit Top Comments to help us, by finding comments which advance the debate nationally, regionally and locally, in particular, comments which illuminate specific campaigns. We welcome as always quality snark and humor, but we want to heighten the focus on substantive comments which will help us achieve the successes we all want and need. Your Top Comments Team."
Now that you have had a chance to read that, just remember that we are all for any sorts of comments that are good stuff. At the same time, just remember to have fun in finding your gems, and send what you find to
topcomments at gmail dot com. This project works because of you, the reader, and what YOU find and think.
Second, noweasels wrote this great diary on Animals affected by the Israel/Lebanon crisis. There are a lot of pictures there, and a call to action, so take a look.
Now that we're through that, I'd like you to meet one of Earth's new friends.
This is 2003 UB313, aka Xena (used more for clarification than to reference the Warrior Princess). I met Oobie (my name for the thang) over at MIT's website, where I am currently looking at on my epic hunt for gainful employment. (Note: If you're clicking on that MIT link after midnight, you may get a different page, as they like to update their home page about once a day).
Anyways, UB313 has made news recently here and elsewhere due to the possibility that it will be classified as a planet in line with Pluto's classification as a planet. There has been some interesting discussion here on dKos, particularly in a diary by Rimjob, and some openthread comments started by AggieDemocrat. Based on the Wikipedia article on our little buddy, the name that it will likely be given is Persephone. However, you, the dKos reader, get to take a poll based on notable names and the current contents of my brain. So, in the words of the incomparable Tim Gunn, make it work.

Keener's diary on re-writing Charlie Bass's campaign ads for NH-02 drew few comments but several excellent ones: Elwood Dowd on campaign signs; DavidNYC on independence with a great follow-up from Elwood again.
