Here you have one of the shining stars of the Democratic party getting in bed with the Godfather of FOX News, Rupert Murdoch.
The mating ritual of the unlikely allies has been under way for months. Clinton set political tongues to wagging last month by attending a Washington party celebrating the 10th anniversary of Fox News, the cable news channel owned by Murdoch.
The Financial Times quoted one unnamed source as describing the Clinton-Murdoch connection in this way: "They have a respectful and cordial relationship. He has respect for the work she has done on behalf of New York. I wouldn't say it was illustrative of a close ongoing relationship. It is not like they are dining out together."
It's a darn good thing that Hillary isn't a member of the Green Party. If she were some of the hypocrites here on Kos might actually take her to task for cozying up to someone like Murdoch. However, since she is a Democrat (and a moderate one to boot) it's all good for her to take FOX generated dollars.
Seems that when the GOP dollars flow to help a Democrat with the DLC stamp of approval, Kos and his followers get in line. But God help anyone else who takes GOP money, especially if they happen to be a Progressive.
Clearly there is no room in the party for anyone to the left of Lieberman anymore. Gone are the days when the Democrats stood against anything. Today, they are like reeds in the wind that bend over anytime something pushes them.
So do your worst on the Greens in PA. Go ahead. Just remember that while you have a potential 2008 Presidential nominee courting Godfather Murdoch in your midst, your anger and slams against the Greens will simply be a reminder of the bankruptcy of your ideas and the weakness of your spine.
