We all know the decedent; we can see the corpse lying there, attracting vultures and all the other creatures that thrive on the results of mortality.
But for some reason we are not looking more closely at the fingerprints all over the scene, at the footprints leading up to and away from the body. We look away as the thieves pick the pockets and the bodysnatchers size up the remains -- and as the body reanimates.
Joe Lieberman is dead to us as a Democratic Party member, but we're unwilling to look at what now mobilizes this undead thing.
Let's look at the facts:
-- Domain "ISupportJoe" goes live during the last leg of the CT primary, empowered by the heirs and assigns of the highly partisan character assassins, SwiftBoatLiars; the domain is "moved around" the day after the primary;
-- The new generation of partisan character assassins are clearly using Republican operatives like Donatelli for their infrastructure;
-- Trumped up terror alert pushed by U.S. officials following Lieberman's loss in the primary, at the cost of tens of millions (or more) to taxpayers and corporations; the push for the alert could have been made the previous week, or even after all investigative work was completed, but U.S. officials chose to announce the alert at that time;
-- CT's Republican candidate Alan Schlesinger, who would be a junior member of any committee and who also has "issues", pointedly receives NO endorsement from his own national party;
-- Other Republicans like Jodi Rell, Rob Simmons and Jack Kemp make a pointed effort to appear at events with or actively campaign for Lieberman after the primary.
The body writhes around and begins to walk, in a manner consistent with all things unDemocratic.
At what point are we actually going to scream its name and call it what it now is?
Joe Lieberman of Connecticut: Republican for Senate.
[Thanks to the folks at ePluribus Media for their work on fingerprint dusting the corpse!]
