Yes, yes.. I know everyone must be wondering what I've been having for breakfast today, but it appears that Bush has become an important recruitment tool for a couple different establishments up here in Canada.
Lakehead University, located in Thunder Bay in northwestern Ontario is doing
this flattering advertisement showing that going to Yale or Ivy Schools in general isnt all its cracked up to be. Apparently, according to some
news reports, the University has spent 100 000$ on this particular advertising campaign in the Toronto area in order to gain new student recruits.
Not to be outdone, Toronto-based company Simply Audio Books has been running this billboard ad in downtown Toronto recently. In the same news report I quoted above, Simply Audio has reported positive feedback to the billboards and a 100% increase in their sales since they started running these billboards.
So there you have it... George Bush is creating great incentives for Canadian education efforts!
There are potential risks of course for this type of ad campaign:
Now, I suppose the only downside to all of this is I wouldn't be surprised if the "Axis of Evil" added Lakehead University to their list of terrorist organizations..
"We've just realized that Lakehead University has a nuclear weapons engineering course, we will be 'liberating' Canada momentarily".
For that matter, Simply Audio Books might get put on the embargo list reserved for Cuba.
Ah well.. you take the good with the bad, right?
