I think it's a useful excercise whenever possible, to completely ridicule Republican talking points. This stuff has been shoved down our throats for so long and now that it appears the pendulum may be swinging our way, I think it's time that the ridiculous catchphrases, buzzwords and talking points that comprise the entirety of Republican policy be given the respect they deserve.......complete and utter ridicule. Follow me below, where we can examine some of the more ridiculous ones.
There are so many to choose from, here are my top 5:
Stay The Course - They're trying with all their might to run away from this one, but it's a little late now, isn't it?
We need to fight them over there, so we don't have to over here OR the new variation on the same theme: If we don't finish the job over there, they'll FOLLOW us home - I don't even know where to begin. I have yet to hear anyone successfully articulate this ridiculous theory.
The liberal media only reports the bad news, because they hate Bush - This is coming around again since Rummy pointed out that there was so much more attention given to Abu-Ghraib by the press than to Medal of Honor recipient, Sergeant First Class Paul Ray Smith. Maybe this is why Daryn Kagan is starting her own website.
Iraq is the central front in the war on terror- Foreign "Jihadists" account for about 5% of the violence in Iraq. That has been frequently followed by : "The terrorists THEMSELVES say Iraq is the central front in the WOT"...so I'm confused, are we believing what terrorists are saying now?
Democrats are all about negativity and bashing Bush, they have no plan of their own- umm, I think the plan to FIRE the morons who've run the country into the ground is a damn good place to start, don't you?
So those are just a few, feel free to submit some more. Remember, it's not enough to just reflexively refute these ridiculous points, they must be ridiculed and laughed at...big Kris Kringle-like belly laughs. Extra points for performing an exaggerated spit take on your local desperate wingnut.
