There are individuals who toil in the vineyard of Right-Wing misinformation that are highly qualified to be on the Bush administration's payroll as the official apologist.
Tony Snow, who became the President's Press Secretary, fits that role like a glove. He walked in from a Cable news network that kisses the President's behind and tells him that its very special.
Sean Hannity, Fox News talk show host and uber-Patriot, will tell you that things are going ever so smoothly, contrary to the facts that suggest The United States, under the Bush White House, has lost all its prestige and honor.
Not even President Nixon, in his lust for power wouldn't dare erode America's reputation. However, Nixon did have his apologists who believed that Mr. Nixon was a target of a liberal press.
President Bush is this generation's Nixon, and Sean Hannity is the chief brown-noser. Head apologist, who uses the power of both Radio and Television to seduce the everyday, aggrieved, un-educated American, that Bush is right and everything else is just plain Liberal and Unpatriotic.
The rhetoric that Mr. Hannity uses is perfect. A common man approach that sees facts as the eqivalent of giving out the end of a movie. His audience is largely made up of angry White Americans who seethe at Liberal who poke fun at their religion, steal their guns, and hand down jobs to minorities who earned it based on color.
Sean Hannity feels their pain. Instead of feeding them a recipe of facts, he dispenses opinions like if they were condoms. Lazy opinions that work only to stir up emotions, rather than truths. Hannity like his audience are highly misinformed and both think they know America like the back of their hand, when in reality, both have never gotten far from the neighborhoods and people that have helped shaped their ill ideologies.
Mr. Hannity knows one America and that is Conservative America. Red America. The one that likes to call itself the REAL America. The one that allegedly goes to Church, fight in wars and fire guns whenever they get bored as hell.
The language and kaledioscope of lies that Hannity brings everyday to both Radio and TV has helped erode the Political debate in this country. He's not alone. Along with the Limbaughs, Malkins, O'Reilly's, Coulters, Savages, and Boortz's, the Right Wing have perfected the art of using the emotions and fears of Americans to help further their own causes and the Conservative movement. Without the loud and irrational rhetoric of Right-Wing talk show hosts, Conservative politicians would just be relegated to hysterical footnotes in the political landscape.
Sean Hannity gets a hard-on in marginalizing those who dare criticize the President. In his world, he who criticizes the President, hates the country. The President is a religious figure, someone who knows better. What Hannity fails to realize is that people in his own party are starting to walk away from a President who is radioactive. A man who does more harm than good. The latest polls show that people are distancing themselves from the term "Republican." As of this moment, only 31.9 percent of the American people identify themselves as Republican, as opposed to 37 percent who were proud republicans in Oct of 2004.
The GOP is weakening, buckling at the knees, dependent on Karl Rove to invent a strategy that will help destroy the Democratic party and return the country into the hands of a political party that is clearly insensitive to change.
What does Sean Hannity have to say about that? What are his ideas?
"If you believe that these are consequential, transformative times, if you believe our borders need to be secure, if you believe that we need to cut taxes to keep the economy humming, if you think it's an absolute mistake and a disaster to pull out of Iraq too early, if you think we're gonna retreat in the war on terrorism, if you think we're gonna be less safe, less secure with a party that has a pre-9-11 mentality, then this is the time not to give up. This is the moment to say that there are things in life worth fighting and dying for and one of `em is making sure Nancy Pelosi doesn't become the speaker."
The thought of California Rep. Nancy Pelosi, being third in line to be President, must give the uber-patriot Sean Hannity nightmares at night. Nancy Pelosi is a threat to Sean Hannity's ultra-Conservative values. Values that threatened a Woman's right to choose. Values that give Rich Americans more of a upper hand. Values that relish the ideas of putting Gays back into closets with steel doors, and chains made of cement.
From that ridiculous statement of wanting to die for preventing Nancy Pelosi to become speaker comes these things to mind.
Sean Hannity, who never fought in a war, or quite possibly a street fight in his entire life, NOW wants to fight in the biggest war in his existence. The battle to keep Nancy Pelosi out of status as House Speaker. The man who loves his country and our brave men and women see a Congresswoman as a much vital threat than Osama Bin Laden, suddenly wants to take up arms in fighting a liberal congresswoman.
There's a saying in the ghetto. "There are those who talk about, and there are those who be about it." And, Sean Hannity talks about it.
Another thing that comes to mind is the notion of "worth dying for." I don't know about, but that rhetoric seems awfully familiar to the rhetoric employed by the Al-Qaeda terrorist network, and other terrorist organizations. What, does Sean Hannity expect in this new war against Nancy Pelosi, a "Hannityite" to go blow himself up in the name of Conservatism?
Cause that's what it sounds like. Not a need for a change, but a need to continue the ridiculous mentality that Bush Cabal has employed for the last 5 years.
Furthermore, if Sean Hannity, who swaggered into Florida like a retarded Superman to save Terri Schiavo, why does he want people to die for Conservatism? Doesn't he realize the moral ambuguity of the situation. Die to prevent a Liberal to become powerful, but save a woman in order to stir up support for a President that is clearly a failure.
Sean Hannity has a sacrifice to make in the next 2 months or so. He'll use all his talent (or lack thereof) to ensure Americans that the GOP will keep you alive and secure, while the Liberal devil will enjoy your demise and taking your money from the pockets.
It's ridiculous because its true. We can say it doesn't matter. We can say that there is no need to give this apologist more space in our blogs to write about, but he matters because he's part of a growing problem in our political debate and one of the symbols for the continuing bickering in Washington D.C.
Sean Hannity wants you die for his cause. Question I have for him is, will he find enough people willing to take him up on his offer.
