I like the tag "bias like woah." Because if the writings of LSJ (Lansing State Journal) columnist
Tim Skubick doesn't fit that description like a leather glove, I'll eat my hat.
His latest editorial as a "political analyst" of Michigan politics?
Granholm is a big, bad pitbull, while Devos is just as gallant and gentlemanly as can be.
As you read Granholm's remarks, it appears she is running for heavyweight champion of the world. With 21 - count 'em 21 - references to the word "fighting," you wonder how she has enough time left to be governor.
But contrast this with:
"She's a nice person and she's a gifted communicator," he said. But he gently reminds everyone that you must judge someone on what they do and not what they say. Pretty mean stuff, eh?
He prepares his troops for the onslaught of negative attacks, but staying on the high road he said, "Instead of getting down in the mud, let's get down to business. It's not time to blame, but time to get Michigan back in the game."
Ugh! It's just enough to make my stomach turn. Anyone who reads Skubick's editorials are probably looking quizzically at me, with "Yeah? And?" After all, Skubick will take potshots at Granholm any and every chance that he can get.
I just bring up this diary as a means to further discuss the gubernatorial race, and the propaganda that plagues it. We know and we have discussed the potential "Devos burn out" from his doom-and-gloom outlook and negative campaign toward Granholm, but with "gentlemen" like Tim Skubick around, will it hold?
I mean, after all:
Pawing over their acceptance speeches, you get two distinctly different tones: Incumbent Granholm is on the attack. Challenger DeVos is doing everything he can not to attack.
What do y'all think?
Oh, yeah... and visit Jenny G's campaign site.
