The mainstream media are not doing their job. The Iraq War may have become the least reported of all wars the U.S. has fought. By way of comparison, the recent war in Lebanon was reported in excruciating detail.
Here are some questions that should be addressed.
1. What exactly are the main functions of our soldiers on a daily basis? Search and destroy missions? Police actions? Guarding key sites? Pursuing terrorists?
2. What are the jobs of mercenaries? What are they doing that U.S. troops are not?
3. Are there some towns and areas that are not patrolled at all by U.S. troops because they are considered too dangerous? Who controls them?
4. Is the Air Force bombing? If so what are the targets? What is the damage?
5. How restrictive and dangerous is travel? For example, is it possible to travel by car to Jordan? To Iran? What about from the airport to the Green Zone?
6. What exactly is the goal of the U.S. military? To keep Iraqis from killing each other? To protect U.S. installations?
7. And finally, the question everybody should be asking: What does winning the war specifically mean?
