Anyone working on candidate campaigns - tell the press coordinator for the campaign to consider boycotting ABC stations during the remainder of the 2006 election season. There are four other networks not to mention cable where they can spend their money - they don't have to spend it with stations/networks that are providing free airtime for right-wing propoganda. Political campaign ads are a cash cow for local network affiliates which means they are counting on it for a big cash infusion between now and election day.
Make sure the campaign informs their local ABC affiliate by COB Friday of their intentions so there is time for them to find alternate programming to put on in lieu of the network movie.
I'd especially like to see those candidates that have huge warchests, but only token opposition (are you listening Hillary) doing this. The money they have can best be put to use pushing the Democratic agenda nationally, and convincing ABC/Disney not to air this obviously skewed, partisan, factually challenged rightwing dogma is obviously in the Democrat's and the nation's interest.
This seems like a much more workable, and fair, form of boycott than going after the non-partisan advertisers on ABC and its local stations.
