NFL football starts tonight. I've been waiting for it for months. The first game tonight pits the Steelers against the Dolphins. I'll be popping the popcorn, and voicing a lot of loud and clueless opinions to my buddies, who will quietly tolerate my nonsense. Not. Sunday, my team, the Eagles, will be playing. The city will be watching, and praying that last year was an aberration.
But the big night is always Monday Night. As in Monday Night Football. Even if I don't care about the teams, I'll turn on the game. This week, the Redskins, in my team's division, will be playing the Vikings, in my conference. I would be watching this game. Not now. Why, you ask?
(more after the flip)
Why? The game's on ESPN. They paid $1.1 billion dollars a year for the right to the game. Disney owns ESPN. Nope. Won't watch it. I'll be contacting ESPN, and letting them know. Oh, for folks on the West coast, or football addicts anywhere, the later game on ESPN is San Diego at Oakland.
I've seen a few folks recommending watching sports, instead of The Path to 9/11. Just make sure it's not on ABC or ESPN. John Madden and Al Michaels are on NBC now anyway. Colts-Giants Sunday night. Just in time to miss Part 1.
Oh, and if you know any progressives who are also Nielsen families, let them know.
