There's been much written here today about ABC showing "The Path to 9/11"... but BBC2 is also screening the two-part fictionalization. Why?
As in the USA, BBC2 is screening the movie in two parts with the final episode airing on September 11.

The July 23, 2006 edition of Daily Variety notes:
U.S. shows are few and far between on the BBC's primetime schedules, but acquisitions topper George McGhee was impressed when the film was previewed at May's L.A. Screenings.
"It's the definitive U.S. drama on Sept. 11 and absolutely right for marking the anniversary," he said. "It's beautifully made and the right place to show it in the U.K. is on a channel like BBC2 that doesn't have commercial breaks."
You can ask the BBC why they are screening this if you contact their Los Angeles offices.

Or, better yet, call George McGhee, the BBC's acquisitions director and ask him why he thinks it's "absolutely right for marking the anniversary" of 9/11.

And, finally, why did Mark Platt, the producer of "The Path to 9/11" say this about his movie and the 9/11 Commission Report?
"If you read the report, sadly, it reads like fiction," he said. "It's riveting and compelling just based on the facts. One need not bring anything more to it. The events speak for themselves."

So... which is it? Is this is dramatization like ABC asserts... or is it "based on facts" like the producer insists?
